Are they supposed to stay where they are? Just bought one and am sure it was in the right position, but when I came to remove it it had gone half a mile up and took ages to grab!

This has happened to me before, scary isn't it! I tend to put it in quite low down so doesn't really happen now. How long have you been using it?

It was my first time. Not sure I could have put it any lower tbh - I could feel the stem at first but got more comfortable as time went on - obviously as it moved upwards...

When you remove it, it helps to bear down a bit first as this moves it down so that you can reach it better. A bit of practice and you will be a Mooncup pro!

Mine does wriggle up a bit - depends on how you're designed, I suppose. If you bear down it's easier to get it out.

I have cut the stem right off mine so it can sit a bit lower without feeling anything. Bearing down helps enormously and it's easy to remove without a stem I find.

Thanks for the replies.
Was surprised it had moved so far. So does that happen to most people then? I have a coil so was a bit worried it would interfere with the strings going up that high. I had visions of having to get it removed and trying to explain what it was .

They say it takes about three months to get used to so persevere! (as well as bearing down!)

Bear down! I thought I'd find mine up by my boobs the first time I tried to get it out!

Persevere, I've just done my first month and things were a lot easier by day 7 then they were on day 1.

Yes that's what it's like - your pelvic floor muscles pulling it up. It happens to me sometimes at night too. After a while you get the knack and work out where it's most comfortable for you. I have completely removed the stem too, and agree with the others that it doesn't hinder removal.
