dd 4.5 months sleeping or crying - when should i be concerned?

dd is normally a very happy alert baby who sleeps 7-7 (with a dream feed)and naps for up to 2 hours in the day. She rarely cries. For the past couple of days we've been very busy and dd has only napped for around an 60-90 mins in her pushchair throughout the day.

last night she was grumbling and crying from 4am and i eventually brought her to bed with me so i didnt have to keep getting up and down. she woke as usual at 6:50am and i fed her (FF) she took half her bottle and then started crying, really crying. so i changed her nappy (she'd had a poo and i thought it might be bothering her TMI?! sorry) and she drank another ounce or two then screamed, rreally sreamed for about 45 mins when she fell asleep.

she slept for 30 mins and then woke up, again crying and cried for another 30 mins. she has then slept solidly from 9:30am until now, waking occassionally for a dummy hunt, or a wail, and has taken another 2 ounces of formula.

her temperature, according to my digital thermometer is 37 degrees. should i be worried? obviously i am, very worried, but am i overreacting? she is my first baby and hasnt been ill before

could she just need to catch up on some sleep? or is this (as i suspect) very unusual? my car is off rod at moment but dh home for lunch so i was going to steal his car and take her to the doctor - any advice please?

Do you think she could be teething? Try to see if some calpol will settle her.

You know your baby better than anyone, if you are worried take her to the docs. It could be she's not well, may be wind, teeth, tiredness, docs are used to seeing mums with their lo's most are pretty good at reassuring you. Hope she improves.

thanks guys, worry got the better of me so i took the grizzly monster to the docs and she has a red throat and ear, so doc concluded a "viral infection" and has given me ibuprofen cos she doesnt like calpol and will make herself sick if she takes it. ibuprofen seems to have gone down ok, although dd was practically asleep!

cant see any signs of teething although not ruling it out.
