I have 7 week old boy/ girl twins both of which seem to have different issues but I'm wondering if both or either of them may have reflux.
My boy is on standard Aptamil formula and after every feed is sick a lot, this has been going on for about 5 days now, never had trouble before but all of a sudden he is just sick loads. He isn't fussy and doesn't cry much so I've pretty much ruled out colic, he doesn't seem to have any problem bringing up wind it's just the amount he regurgitates that concerns me. For about half an hour after every feed he is sick on and off and brings up quite a lot of milk. With this type of regurgitation would switching him to Anti-Reflux formula help or is that something I need to see a Dr about?
My girl however does things that concern me a little more. She is on comfort formula as she did the classic pain sounding crying in the late afternoon / evening and didn't seem to be able to bring up much wind. We switched her to comfort milk at about 5 weeks and her spitting up seemed to stop and she does a lot healthier sounding burps now! Big ones. However, sometimes after a nap she will wake up bubbling at the mouth and sounding as if she is gasping for air. I listen to her breathing a lot and can tell she is breathing and is getting enough air, but it's the bubbling and the sounds she makes. She does a high pitched squeak while she's inhaling and is very fussy for about the first half hour after a long nap. I'm wondering if it could be reflux and it's the feeling of acid rising that's making her uncomfortable and make these noises? It's only after a long nap she does this, or first thing in the morning. But she isn't sick a lot, she isn't regurgitating milk like her brother. She is foaming and squeaking and arches her back like shes in pain. Could it be reflux? Like heartburn / acid type?
I am going to call my GP tomorrow (Sunday today!) And book her in but I wondered if anyone has had similar with their babies. Is it something I need to be massively worried about or does it sound like reflux?
Thanks in advance.
