What can be wrong sweating on face constantly

Hi its been going on for a bit now some morning all over the body but mainly on my face. I have spoke to Dr's about it but it was a telephone appointment for something else she said if the bed sheets aren't soaked it's not the menopause. So what can be causing it.

Any advice

Thanks
Sal

This is me at rhe minute I was at a family party on Saturday and sat all night cooling myself with a paper plate 😭 it's so embarrassing and I can't even wear make up it just runs off

DiscoBadgers · 05/09/2022 13:28

Me too!

I have exactly the same problem, I'm constantly dabbing at my face with a flannel! I am menopausal but on HRT

Dontfuckingsaycheese · 05/09/2022 13:31

It’s still so bloody hot op. When I get hot my face pours especially my forehead. I struggled last night as it didn’t seem to cool down at all. I often wake up as I feel the sweat pouring down my face when I’m asleep. At work when rooms warm up I start all over again when I’m doing anything physical! See how you feel when temps eventually drop.

Actually though I do suspect I’m pre-peri-menopausal and often also wake up soaking - particularly my chest.

Thyroid.
I've been confusing my (diagnosed) hypothyroidism with (diagnosed) menopause. But in the past few weeks the oh-so-glamorous head-sweating has been in total overdrive. I'm waiting on GP advice, but my thyroid numbers aren't adding up.

Your doctor is wrong

I have never soaked the sheets but did sometimes get a bit warm /need to cool my face

Sadless · 05/09/2022 13:44

Maybe worth going back to Dr's asking for a blood test at least. I am 40 but finding it unbearable I am sat here and I can feel it coming on, on my face and back of my neck at the minute.
Thanks for replying

Sal

Face sweating and the thing that came to my mind is thyroid too.

hedgehogscrossing · 05/09/2022 13:58

@Sadless I am in peri menopause and only my face gets hot, it feels like a normal blush but builds and builds till it feels like my face is burning. I also get sweaty around my hairline and scalp. I get a general clammy hot feeling in general at times, my bedsheets have never been damp let alone soaked. When I take hrt it goes away and when I stop hrt it comes back.

Your GP is talking nonsense, I never had night sweats and I'm in menopause and have been for 2 years. I was hot in the day instead.

This is me atm but my bloods came back normal. Was told "no further action" but I KNOW something is not quite right and my mum has thyroid issues. I tick so many boxes but I'm told, I'm fine.

I never had night sweats either, never needed to change the sheets in the middle of the night. Sure I woke up really hot at times but just kicked the duvet off until I had cooled down.

Bunnyfuller · 05/09/2022 23:08

Your gp is talking bollocks. It’s the menopause. No point having a blood test as the precise thing with menopause is fluctuating hormones, so one measure may miss the levels that indicate it.
