Not-broken foot

I dropped a heavy dining table on the top of my foot almost three weeks ago. I could walk, more or less, but o my on the side of it; it was too swollen to walk normally.

I went to minor injuries where it was xrayed and they didn't see any breaks. They gave me a return appointment a week later, at which they didn't like the look of it but said it was too soon to x-ray again. I was back today, so nearly threw weeks since Table Day, and they still don't see a break but booked me in to see a consultant in two weeks because it's still a bit swollen and it's sore. I asked if i could damage it by using it, since it's no tbroken, e said he wouldn't recommend doing much on it. I'm using a walking boot.

Does anyone know what possibilities there are now? I'm diabetic so protective of my feet but I feel like a bit of a malingerer, given that it's not actually broken.
