How do I find the best surgeon for op?

I need an op on my hand to cure Dupuytren's disease. The NHS won’t treat it and I’m happy to go private so I can get back to being able to grip properly.
I’m not looking forward to it as a few years ago a routine op left me permanently disabled due to the surgeon’s cavalier mistake. This time as I’m going to elect the surgery is there way of knowing how many ops the surgeon has done successfully?
TIA

You need to have a look for a surgeon accredited by the British Orthopaedic Association

you can research specialist areas

NHS used to do this op, when I worked at Chelsea and Westminster hospital it was done all the time.

@Frances0911

The N H S used to do lots of operations which are now counted as cosmetic.

@AzerothiThat surprises me, as it is quite debilitating as it causes at least one or more fingers to be severely bent inwards.

I have Dupuytrens in both hands, early stages but progressing particularly in my dominant hand which is a concern. I am contemplating Radiotherapy but would really like to know if anyone has tried this and has any advice on its efficacy and side effects. Its unbelievable that this condition is treated so casually by the NHS as it can be incredibly debilitating and suddenly you need help doing basic things. I want to stay strong and independent until I pop my clogs which is good for everyone. Hope someone out there has some info for me. Happy New Year
