Dry mouth is driving me crazy - help?

Since Christmas ive had a cough and a bit of a dry mouth the dry mouth got worse around may/June time

There are several possible causes

Menopause - but it's new & I had my ovaries out I 2018
Fluoxetine but I started that in Feb and it only got worse recently
Gp gave me omeprazole for the cough as it was reflux, this definitely makes it worse

Any other ideas, causes or solutions?

Get checked for diabetes

I was checked in November but I guess I can ask again

Thanks, would it give me a cough bad enough to vomit?

Definitely ask again about the diabetes. My GP told me you can get the symptoms before it shows up in your blood test.

Sjorgen's syndrome? Persistent dry cough and dry mouth are some of the listed symptoms.

me too. I’ve developed a very dry mouth at night in the last few months. It’s really unpleasant and wakes me up. I realised that sucking a cough sweet or having it between my cheek and teeth at night made my mouth produce saliva and that helps and the chemist has just given me Salivix dry mouth relief pastilles that I’ve used at night and they’ve helped. I don’t really know what the cause is. I’ve got various chronic health conditions but I’ve had all of those for ages so it would be weird if they had suddenly caused a new symptom! It could be the menopause as I’m 45. I’m going to the dr in a couple of weeks to talk to them about it.
in the short term, go and see a pharmacist as there are pastilles, sprays and mouth washes that can help the symptoms.
I’ll post back here if I find out the cause. Xx

Xerostomia. You can get a saliva spray to fry.

Oh poo! Salivix has artificial sweetners!

That's annoying

Sjorgsens? Not sure I have space for another ai condition 😉🤔🙄😬
