Have you recently had a baby? If not...

could it be thyroid?

hunkermunker · 20/01/2008 19:42

Have you seen the perimenopause threads on here?

Any chance DH's vasectomy's healed up?!

bozza · 20/01/2008 19:42

Well I don't think you are going to like this but....vasectomys can occasionally fail so I think it would be worth doing a pg test just to rule this out. And when you have go to the Dr to see if it is perimenopause - early but still feasible.

BreeVanDerCampLGJ · 20/01/2008 19:43

You have had a shitty stressful 12 months. ?? Is it a reaction.............???

Hot flushes...........you lucky cow, with British Gas putting their prices up by 15%...you must be saving a fortune.

Elibean · 20/01/2008 19:45

Perimenopause can go on for years and years, and defo can start that early - even if you don't end up with a particularly early (full) menopause. I'd do a pg test just to be sure then get thyroid and hormones checked..

...and if it makes you feel any better, its also quite normal at ANY time during fertile years to have occasional blips in cycle, where hormones go haywire.

Not medical, but have a feeling there are loads of other things which can make hormones go funny - do get checked out if you're sure yo'ure not pg (or even if you are )

Tortington · 20/01/2008 19:45

Hi Custy - your post is ringing bells for me too so I am interested, I have missed a period and am feeling different emotionally (same age as you). I think I'm a bit young to be starting all this - good luck with the GP, can you let us know how you get on?

bozza · 20/01/2008 19:51

Of course if you do go to the doctor the first thing he/she will do is a pg test, so you could save yourself the cost of one.

Tortington · 20/01/2008 19:53

i feel like i have PMT all the time wisteria - what about you?

OP posts:
Wisteria · 20/01/2008 19:55

yup - and am an evil bitch my dp would say

I've just started taking 1000mg starflower oil every day as my friend recommended it for the out of control PMT, at the moment I'm only getting between 5-7 days when I feel right IYSWIM.

alfiesbabe · 20/01/2008 19:56

Wisteria · 20/01/2008 19:58

Well I know I'm not but added to that whenever I'm pg I feel lovely and calm, in love with the world and that sure ain't me at the moment

Tortington · 20/01/2008 19:58

Stress - raised cortisol levels play havoc with your periods. Perhaps stressed over your 'lost' house. Treatment - a weekly full body massage.

dinny · 20/01/2008 20:06

perimenopause?

Monkeytrousers · 20/01/2008 20:07

early menopause?

Wisteria · 20/01/2008 20:08

Perimenopause: The hormonal changes associated with menopause actually begin prior to the last menstrual period, during a 3- to 5?year period called perimenopause. During this transition, women may begin to experience menopausal symptoms and may lose bone density, even though they are still menstruating.

Go to the Dr, Custy.
