Looks like a pinch. Are you sure you haven’t caught it on anything without realising?
Cant really see properly from the photo, is it hard?

Embarras83 · 10/08/2022 15:58

Is this better? It’s painful. Not very hard. Doesn’t seem to have liquid underneath.

Weird. I've not seen anything like that before. Maybe some kind of insect bite?

chocolatenutcase · 10/08/2022 17:34

Could it be a splinter?

Embarras83 · 10/08/2022 19:33

Possibly no head on it - it’s just painful! Doesn’t seem like any liquid under it.

Looks like something working itself out? Maybe a tiny bit of old gravel or something?

Pixiedust1234 · 10/08/2022 19:54

I'm guessing its an infected splinter. I sometimes think ive got the splinter out and a few days/weeks later I get that. Get a sterile pin and have a rummage then plaster and germoline.

Gsds · 10/08/2022 19:54

Looks like skin infection, nip the the chemist, they tell you if it is and need antibiotics. Is it swollen?

Carrieonmywaywardsun · 10/08/2022 20:03

Looks like a blister, I think you'd see a splinter because it usually swells directly around it. Speak to a pharmacist and keep it clean

Embarras83 · 10/08/2022 22:01

Thanks tried pharmacy today in my lunch break but they were on their lunch break! I’ll try go earlier tomorrow

So I had to go to GP yesterday over another matter and I thought I’d ask. She said it’s a blister but I’m not convinced. Yes it looks white but when I run my finger over it, it goes flesh coloured. It’s hard not soft like a blister and there seems to be a fair amount of skin rather than the thin skin over fluid.

Seeing family at the weekend one person who is a GP so I’ll ask them.

I'd be tempted to have a poke with a sterile needle like pp said.

Looks like the start of a wart to me

GrimDamnFanjo · 14/08/2022 17:53

Any others?

Embarras83 · 14/08/2022 17:59

No others this one - it literally appeared overnight and you can see the progression. Can I get it removed? It’s painful and annoying. On my right hand and I’m right handed.

I mean this is the only one I have.

What makes you think that @gegs73 it feels so odd!

OP posts:
gegs73 · 14/08/2022 21:10

I’ve had something in the past looking a bit like this and that’s what it ended up being. I put clear nail varnish over it from memory a couple of times a day and it helped clear it up.

Infected splinter?

YanTanTetheraPetheraPimp · 15/08/2022 16:44

You’ve got a thorn or similar in it, I had one one my thumb. A thistle prickle eventually emerged!

Embarras83 · 15/08/2022 17:25

Not a wart then? Or a verruca? @YanTanTetheraPetheraPimp

When I squeeze it the lump goes flesh coloured!
