I think I have a brain tumour

I have had a headache for weeks, it is not severe but is accompanied by nausea, a feeling of pressure at back of head, and a bizarre sensation that my head and eyes are not working in sync, which makes me dizzy and foggy. Most worryingly, the headache is always worse when I have been lying down. It responds to paracetamol, but always comes back.

I am a self-confessed hypochondriac with regular health anxiety crises (mostly motivated by fear of leaving my children). These symptoms point to a brain tumour and I am terrified. Has anyone had something similar and had it NOT turn out to be a brain tumour?

Thanks for your support 😢

I was the same. I had a MRI all clear it was severe labyrinthitis. Especially the eye thing.

Hi, OP here. MRI showed nothing, so they concluded it was migraines! They became more and more frequent and intense, started really interfering with my work. In the end, I was prescribed beta-blockers for prevention and sumatriptan for pain relief. This has largely worked, though I remain very sensitive to things like weather changes - a bit of cloud on a sunny day is a massive trigger. Also still odd that I now get aura (the eye thing) and that the pain is worst in the mornings, but I guess that’s just how my migraines have changed with age.

When my late partner was diagnosed with a brain tumour, he'd had none of the symptoms you describe.

Same. My late DP was also diagnosed with a brain tumour. No headache but loss of memory, arm tremors, speech difficulties.
