Bad posture

Has anyone managed to successfully correct their posture? Of so what has helped?

I'm only 30 and have noticed my posture is so bad. I can't keep my back straight anymore. Even family and friends have started to notice.

If anyone has got any suggestions they'd be highly appreciated.

My posture is bad too and something that I’m trying to work on. Do you have neck hump or rounded shoulder or both?

i believe chin tucks help with neck hump and I’ve been stretching out my chest and strengthening my back to try and help with rounded shoulders. And also just remembering to stand and sit correctly and think tall but I find it hard work to have good posture when you’re not used to it!

I have but it took a chiropractor to finally help me.

What exercise do you do? Yoga and Pilates are good because they’re really focused on form and posture. Weightlifting is helpful if you’re doing it correctly.

There’s loads of books on the market and there’s even like braces you can get for under your clothes

Are you hypermobile? I am, and I think it might be related to it.

I curve at the shoulders and have to work really hard at core strength (Pilates) to correct it.

Pilates. You need clinical Pilates not exercise Pilates. So look for a small local class in a church hall or similar. DonKt go to to a leisure centre. It might be worth getting the instructor to develop your own programme to do at home.
