Hi,

For a long time I have suffered from extreme fatigue, some days I'll have a bit more energy and manage to do a little more, it varies. I suffer with migraines. If I go out for a long day out, the next day I'll be wiped out. I struggle to fall asleep at night but then I'm exhausted because either my child wakes early or I have to get up for work. On a bad night I average 4, 5 hours of sleep.

I have in the past been anemic, I have endometriosis and problems with my kidneys although quite mild. I also have anxiety which was under control although it has worsened recently, but I mostly put that down to having quite a stressful job.

I know no one on the Internet can diagnose me with anything. I'm definitely going to head to the doctors because it's impacting my life. It's got to a point where I feel down because I'm always so tired and barely have energy for anything.

Is this normal or could this be something else?

Definitely blood test and doctors chat imo.

Could be under active thyroid apart from the things you've already considered.

Also under active thyroid can bring on depression or low mood.

But a blood test could show up vitamin d deficiency etc.

Thank you. I'll definitely get an appointment booked with my GP.

Could be Chronic fatigue Syndrome. But before diagnosing that, your GP would
Have to run numerous blood tests to make sure you don't have another illness.

Whatever the cause, the only way you will find the answer is by booking yourself in with the GP, which would be entirely justified. Good luck.

MarmiteCoriander · 24/07/2022 23:59

What tests have you already had done if you have 'suffered a long time??? Which specialist and consultants have you already seen to find a cause?

HelpThisGirlOut · 25/07/2022 08:14

@dizzydizzydizzy thank you, I definitely will.

How long is a long time? I have long Covid and have some of those symptoms, could that be a possibility?

MrsMontyD · 25/07/2022 10:19

How old are you? could be menopause, struggling to sleep and tiredness after symptoms. It could be several things though, definitely see your GP.

HelpThisGirlOut · 25/07/2022 10:49

@Jules912 it's been going on for a few years I would say but I have slept poorly since late teens, so I've put the sleep issues mainly down to anxiety. I had covid last year, so it's been going on a lot longer than that and thankfully I wasn't too unwell with it.

@MrsMontyD I'm 31, definitely not early menopause. I've had a baby in the last 2 years and had tests for fertility and had a normal ovarian reserve.

Could be a number of things, definitely go to see your GP.
