Should I be worried about my high heart rate?

I’ve had a smart watch for a few years but I’ve never paid much attention to my heart rate. Just recently, my BF and I have been comparing heart rates and now we’re both a bit worried about how high mine is. Often when I’m sitting resting, my bpm is 90-110 and my watch will tell me I’m in ‘fat burn zone’. The graph from the app shows I’m in ‘fat burn’ for around 7 hours every day and my resting bpm is in the 70s. I’m not very active either.

I often feel quite anxious so I’ve put it down to that. I’m currently overweight (bordering obese) but now I’m approaching 40, I want to address my health and have lost half a stone and about to join slimming world.

I also have hashimotos hypothyroidism. I was on 125mcg thyroxine for a long time but GP decided to reduce my dose to 100mcg following a blood test a year ago. My latest blood test showed heightened TSH so they put me on 150mcg a couple of months ago. Could this account for my heightened bpm?

is this something I should be worried about?

My resting heart rate is about 100. I don’t know why. It worries me a bit, but medics don’t seem concerned.

I have similar. I do have high blood pressure and am on medication for that, but the docs never seemed concerned about my heart rate.

If you have had an ecg done at the gp surgery then it isn't really a cause for concern usually..unless tests show another cause such as anemia or something. I've always had higher heart rate and also get hundreds of ectopic beats a day and weird rhythms but doctors really aren't concerned. Even svt where your heart rate can suddenly race up to 200bpm doesn't usually worry doctors if you have no heart disease etc. Im pretty sure the main fast rhythms that are dangerous are ventricular tachycardia if it doesn't resolve itself as it can lead to ventricular fibrillation (but is much higher than 90bpm) and atrial fibrillation which as it can cause clots to form and increase risk of stroke (but can take meds for this). You would feel very unwell with these and probably go to the hospital. If you can I would just look for charities near you which put on heart screening sessions where you can pay a highly reduced fee to have a private ecg and echo. If they are normal then it should put your mind at rest greatly! I have found the NHS to be absolutely horrendous with my heart symptoms. Major wait times, miscommunication, not being listened to, fighting to get an appointment etc and is worth every penny getting a private echo done.

Get rid of the smartwatch!! Seriously. I got obsessed with my heart rate because of a smartwatch. The rate was always 90-100, all the time. I even saw a cardiologist and had lots of tests done and when I admitted it was a watch the one that "told" me about the high rate, got mad and said those watches are doing a lot of damage. They're not accurate at all.
Also, if you feel well in general a resting rate of 90 or 95 is nothing to worry about. I had 90 and he said I should exercise and improve my endurance, and my heart rate will decrease. My heart rate increases before my periods because of hormones so a lot of factors are involved. He also said we're not perfect machines and even the weather can change your body.
