Yikes
Something wrong with my finger. It is my ring finger on right hand, tip of my finger has swollen up and gone bright red and hard. Looks like greenish blister just round the bottom of my nail.
Feels like it's going to explode
Help!!!
What the heck is it??????????

Hi everyone.
Going to soak it now and see what happens. No splinter or anything, so must be gross nail thing. Yuk.

wow, that looks painful!!! blimey. I would leave it to soak for a LOOOOOOOOOONG TIMMMME

I had something similar about a month ago. Really painful it was too. I didn't get round to going to the doctors as it started to go down after about a week, enough to make me think it was getting better by itself. Then the skin round it started to peel, presumably because it had been stretched. It is pretty much OK now.

Weirdly DS2 had it about 2 weeks before me. I took him to the doctors and she gave him some ABs. He was told to keep it dry and clean so I put a plaster on it. It started to get better by itself too (he refused to take ABs - hated the taste). Something weird has happened to his nail though.

DH had it about 7 years ago and had his lanced and ended up with his arm in a sling, because it got so painful one night he went to A&E on the way home from work. But then men always have to go one better don't they.

It would seem to be a family trait to have manky fingers.

Go to the doctors if it really hurts but it should be possible to clear it up with a course of ABs.

Just looked at Kerry's picture - that looks like it (although tried not to look too closely - yuck) The article says to keep it dry too.
