Palpitations & pounding pulse around body

Hello guys,
I have already a thread started regarding my health concerns. I am not here for medical diagnosis. I just wanted to share my recent experience with you. I have been to A&E quite a few times with continuous and new symptoms relating to my heart (had blood tests done, short ecgs& many chest x rays which so far have come back all normal-no acute problem)
I am currently wearing the 24 hr ecg monitor requested by my gp. I am making a note of any palpitations on the diary sheet provided. However, 2 days ago at work and then at home I felt a fluttering/throbbed sensation in my left wrist, after 5 mins on my right wrist and later on the day at my ankle. I didn't think much of it . However, yesterday in the kitchen I experienced the same pounding sensation on my right wrist and I was able to catch a glimpse of my wrist visually as I was cooking and I literally saw my pulse pounding a few seconds in my wrist this scared the life out of me. I am getting pounding of my pulses around my body for the past 2 days including my wrists and abdominal region below my breasts. I am hoping the ecg monitor has picked this up. The surprising thing is when I get these pounding pulses I do not feel any odd sensation in my heart. I am so worried do you think I should contact 111 today. When I last went to A&E the doctor said any new change meaning more frequent palpitations or chest pain then come back. I have my initial appointment with cardiology in September, but have booked for a private echocardiogram of heart for this Thursday at Harley street. Whilst I have been to hospital I have also been feeling very sick, nauseous, upper abdominal pain and back pain but doctors have said there is no acute heart problem based on blood tests and chest x rays. I do have an abdominal ultrasound scan booked by gp at hospital on 23/7/2022 to rule out problems with gall bladder, pancreas etc. A lot of people have said it's my anxiety as I am getting very health anxious and any news about people passing away, collapsing due to misdiagnosed or untreated heart issues really scares the life out of me. I am really worried, I am 34, healthy, bmi of 19.1, don't smoke, no recreational drugs, no high bp, no high cholesterol, no genetic or childhood heart problems, no family history apart from that my mum (57 yrs old) does have high bp, angina pain and is currently having tests done through the NHS- there is a blockage of one of her coronary arteries so seeing how she is going, my mums symptoms started 8 months ago but she only has pain and breathlensss on exertion and has no palpitations.

@Hopevoyager
My surgery is open I will go in and speak to them about having access to more information such as test results via nhs app. As the app says to contact your gp surgery.

Yes that’s exactly it. It was as easy as them clicking a button to allow you to see everything. They told me 24 hours but it was all online within the hour.

This is exactly what my headache feels like. Its almost like a brain freeze sensation.

Hopevoyager · 31/07/2022 18:36

Hey op, how are you? Did you have any luck with getting your test results?

Bighugs88 · 31/07/2022 23:14

@Hopevoyager
Hi, j went to the gp surgery and was informed that the person who deals with nhs app is in on Monday. So tomorrow I will be calling the gp to book an appointment which is on the same day to discuss my abdomen ultrasound scan results, receptionist confirmed results are in and also around 11am will pop into surgery to sort out nhs app go gain access for results. The 24 hr ecg monitor report should reach gp by end of this week.
How I am feeling... well it's a vicious cycle as when a few symptoms calm down then something else appears and so on. I am not ruling out health anxiety as today I haven't felt dizzy at all and my upper back pain was hardly there today, but instead getting palpitations again and centre chest pain and the internal head tremor every morning is there

Just a quick question if anyone has experiences this when I am standing up and lying down I can see which I think is my heart beating in the centre below my breasts my heart rate is not fast have measured this when standing up below 100 but can see my upper abdominal area shake when my heart is beating. I am quite slim but I have never seen my heart beat like this before it has only become apparent since I been having chest pain and palpitations since may 2022. Trying to ignore it because if I keep staring it just stresses mes out

Sorry for the typing errors 😅 I also need to get my blood tests done this Tuesday morning hopefully as I can leave my little daughter with husband as he has a day off from work. The our of hours gp has requested the following blood tests as urgent:
Hb1A
FBC, LFT, CRP, Kidney, Full cholesterol, ferrtin, setum folate, vitamin b12, thyroid function
Cardiology app is 26th September nothing earlier available. Still thinking 🤔 heart has a problem. It's like I am terrified to exert my self e.g. no running and a slight scare car speeding or loud noises causes my heart to ache and beat weird.

Hopefully you’ll have some answers soon. I would ask if they can add vitamin d to that too. It’s not normally an issue in the summer but may be planting a role here so worth investigating if they’ll do it

SD1978 · 01/08/2022 01:38

If you're not overweight, it's not uncommon to see your heart beating. I'm glad you're seeing someone for your anxiety- if everything comes back as benign, hopefully they can help you out if the anxiety spiral that seems to be happening ING. Is the propanol helping at all?

SD1978 · 01/08/2022 01:39

And pretty much call those blood tests have already been done recently by the A&E- why do they want repeats if they were all normal? Did they explain that to you?

Bighugs88 · 01/08/2022 06:57

@SD1978
Thank you for your message, I did explain to the out of hours gp that I already had the blood tests done at A&E on 19th July and told by gp they are normal on the day after. Out if hours gp said do them again as results were close to boundary limit, but for my reassurance will ask for a copy to see exact figures and ref ranges. The proponlol I was told to stop taking because it made me really unwell, so gp who prescribed this medicine said for now to stick with citroplam only and see how I go rather than taking both medicines at the same time

I’m so sorry you are feeling like this. I found the book by Dr Claire Weekes Self Help for your Nerves extremely helpful. It explained the physical symptoms such as palpitations and pins and needles and random pains and twitches that I felt.
