I've been having them for a while now, I went to get my eyes tested today but though I havent got 20 20 vision my eyes are not bad enough to need glasses. What else could it be? It's really getting annoying now.

mine are pretty much always stress, blood pressure or dehydration!

Bad teeth

An undiagnosed internal abscess (not funny, ds1 had one!)

Food allergies (cows milk, fructose for me).

The Foehn, which is on at the mo. But only if you're just north of the alps

LoveMyGirls, I would maybe seek a second opinion re your eyes. If your vision is not 100% and you were surprised your eyes were OK, it may be worth getting rechecked.( I am an optom BTW)

I would second the eye check

I had a headaches and then a VERY thorough exam as I was working at a uni at the time (with optomitry dept) and they found that I had convergence disparity (lazy eyes that kind of wandered off what they were meant to be doing - typical!!). Never come across anyone who had that diagnosis from anywhere else. But they gave me excercises to do and it worked.

I'd deffinitely get teeth checked. Having the wisdom teeth out could have caused an alignment shift of the teeth & you could be grinding at night/clenching during the day.

It isn't always apparent to you & easily missed, especially as you say you are a heavy sleeper.

LOveMyGirls, would probably recommend an optom from this list if you do decide to go for a second opinion.

Have you been drinking more coffee? Possibly useless response but recently my coffee intake went up to about 4-5 cups a day without me really noticing (duh) and I started getting headaches. Which stopped when I cut the caffeine.

imaginaryfriend · 15/01/2008 23:14

What do the headaches feel like?

I had a period of time when I was getting them for most of the week on and off and I learnt quite a lot about headaches.

I find my migraines come when I'm due on and also if I eat too much chocolate or cheese or have too much caffiene (or is it caffeine?).

If they are frequent, you can ask the GP for some anti-sickness pills and then take normal paracetamol/nurofen type things. You need the AS stuff because the digestive system shuts down during a migraine so the pills without the AS won't work - taking the AS keeps the digestion in check so the body can absorb painkillers (apparently - so said my GP!) My pills are called Metachlopramide if you need to make a note
