Would you see a docter for this ?

Hit my foot on the door frame Sunday night really hard , it was excruciating when I did it. I thought perhaps just broken toe but the pain is lower down in my foot where the bruising and swelling is, it’s not as hard to walk as it was Monday morning but still throbbing a lot if I walk too much.
Would you see someone for this or just leave it to heal?

You need to go to a minor injuries unit and get an X-ray. There are lots of bones (metatarsals) in the foot and it is easy to break or chip one.

Yes I would!

MammaWeasel · 21/06/2022 23:15

I think that needs to be x-rayed

Yes. DD was 14 when she did someone similar. The next day she could walk in it so we thought it was ok but it healed misshapen and when she got seen they said there had been a break but it had healed badly. Not much that can be done unless she has it broken and reset and that can cause arthritis so yes, get it checked .

Thank you, trouble is minor injuries is an hour from me and my cars in the garage today. I can’t go to a&e as it’s not serious enough maybe I should ask my gp?

GP doesn’t have an X-ray machine.
Go to Minor Injuries tomorrow perhaps? Or get a lift today?

If your a&e is much closer than minor injuries then a&e is effectively your minor injuries. 111 should be able to confirm and maybe give you an arrival time that is a little quieter and quicker.

I had an X-ray turns out it’s just bruised. So I must be a big baby 😂

Glad you’re ok. Better safe than sorry. Bruised doesn’t mean less painful.
