Breast biopsy for calcifications

Has anyone had a routine mammogram and been recalled for calcifications? I had to have a second mammogram with a stereo-core biopsy on my left breast and now I have an appointment with a surgeon in three weeks time and the waiting is sheer torture. At the moment my anxiety is through the roof and I’m in a state of panic all day long and can hardly sleep. I’ve read a lot about this online as they say knowledge is power but I would really appreciate some personal experiences please……..

@Bunnyfuller good news! A sigh of relief.

Just waiting for the rest of us! Totally agree re making the most of this weekend.

And Likewise I’ve got mini holiday booked in mid July and a week in late august and if I need treatment they’ll just have to work around it! (I say this now 😂😂).

So odd, feeling totally fine one minute- whatever the outcome feel pragmatic, then the next minute I just feel so anxious and sad!

bloody boobs. 🙄.

Ps I have no idea what the X or Y pattern means. Must be radiographer lingo!

JustDanceAddict · 24/06/2022 14:38

@Sellingstress - So true! I have a busy few weeks ahead so really hope I can still
get to do it all. 😬
not even sure how long it takes to get referred if needs be and whether I should activate private insurance or stick w nhs. I hope I don’t have to make that decision & certainly not on the spot!

Good news from me - all benign & part of ageing process. So relieved!
Hope everyone else gets good news soon who is waiting. X

@JustDanceAddict - great news! I will find out in a few days. Everything crossed for good results. And if not, well it sounds a manageable thing… 🫣

JustDanceAddict · 28/06/2022 20:08

@Sellingstress fingers crossed for you too! I had to wait 45 mins to be called as the results weren’t in yet. My dh came with but you can imagine how stressed I was.

Hi everyone - good news today. They clinic called and said that everything was fine - just fibrocystic changes. Discharged and next mammogram when I turn 50 (in 3 years). Feel so relieved. Good luck to anyone that is waiting.

I've just had a call from the hospital today that they're going to remove the remaining tissue on 29th July 😢
Done under general and a guided wire

hi! I am going through the same thing right now! 2 mammograms - saw microcalcification . I did an ultrasound - nothing was shown. Now waiting for biopsy.
can anyone tell me if their ultrasound also showed nothing ? I’m really nervous

Just offering an early morning hand hold @Edl 💐 Mine all turned out ok and as you can see from this thread, the waiting is the worst part!
