Long term verruca starting to hurt , what can I try next? Can GPs do anything?

I've had a verruca for what must be about 10 years now on the bottom of my heel.

Over the years I've tried Salactol gel, duct tape (did this religiously for about 6 months with no luck!) and various Bazooka type freezing sprays but nothing has shifted it or even made much difference.

It doesn't normally bother me but now it hurts sometimes when walking , probably due to change of footwear now it's summer.

Do GP's even do anything about them these days? Or will I just be told to see a private chiropodist?

Will I end up with a massive hole in my foot if it's treated/removed?

I read somewhere that white vinegar will kill verucca painlessly and effectively

Tried many things including all the freezing ointment, duct tape, banana peel things. Eventually I used green bazooka RELIGIOUSLY every day, following the instructions about filing and what have you to the letter, It worked, took about a month. I'd had them for years.

I tried everything to get rid of my daughters ones. Finally found a method that worked - cotton wool ball soaked in apple cider vinegar and taped to the area at night.

I bought one of those electric foot sanders, put on a N95 mask went outside and sanded it down and kept doing that until it died.
I did have a paediatric dermatologist tell me to use duct tape on my son's...

Homeopathy is never your best bet, for anything. You may as well go and bury a toad under a rowan tree during a full moon. Or flush £50 down the loo.

😁

I had one and went to chiropodist and because I had a baby they said ot was due to virus and my body just needed to rebuild to fight it.. For such a common problem the advice is poor. There's products to 'remove ' the spot but if it's virul then it's a different issue surely.

I’d had 3 on my foot for years, tried everything and every now and again I’d have another go, nothing worked. last year I quit sugar and all ultra processed foods because they were making me unwell. The verruccas were gone after about a month.

I would suggest going to gp from what I read it might be worth a visit. To me it seems like you have done enough home treatment. 🤗

I was going for the smile emoji. Lol

I had a long term one on my heel. I went to the podiatrist numerous times to have it frozen off. He told me they are difficult to get rid of There because the skin is extremely thick.
