4 months with an inhaler for bronchitis

Help! DS2 (nearly 4 months) has had bronchitis since just before Christmas and it won't go. We live in rural Spain and I'm not that happy with the 2 doctors that we have seen. At his 3rd visit we were prescribed an inhlaler (sabutamol) and since taking that (with a mask on) he has been producing a lot of phlegm when he coughs and it is very distressing for everyone - he's not sleeping at all well because of it. Now today, on our 4th visit to the doctor she has prescribed another inhaler (Budesnido) to be used alongside the sabutamol plus, a strong expectorant medecine. Does anyone have knowledge of these inhalers being used on such a small baby? Should I be pleased and not concerned that he is bringing up the phlegm - is it a case of better out that in?!

My dd was on a inhaler at 2 weeks for awhile, and is almost 2 now and sporadically gets bouts of needing it. She has had pulmocort and Atrovent which usually do the trick also though she would be precibed a steroid for maybe 2 - 3 days which really helps things.

Coughing up is good as it means its breaking up, plus really bad nappies are a good sign as it is clearing out.

Hope is better soon.

Well that's good to know. Am a bit worried now though as he seems very drowsy and quite listless. I wonder if all these drugs are too much for him. He's usually such an active little thing - it;s a big change to see. I have another appointment for him tomorrow but am considering taking him as an emergency patient just because he looks pale and isn't perky at all. Help please!

did you bring him, you can never be too sure with babies so if you are worried don't hesitate.

Never found the inhalers make her drowsy, or listless, usually when a baby is this way they are quite ill and may need to be hydrated and treated at hospital.

Hope hes ok, it must be worrying when you are not in your home country and everything is done differently.
