Potential b12 deficiency

I'm very health anxious so sorry in advance if I ramble on!

Since Friday last week, I've had the worst vertigo I've ever had where the room spins if I take a step. Super difficult when you have an active 8 month old.

I'm prone to visiting dr google and after getting prescribed stemetil from the doctors on Monday (still phone appointments so very limited in the help given) but they've not really had any affect just yet so I decided to look online as to what my systems could be.

Other then vertigo and dizziness, I have no appetite, constipated, tingly arms especially in the morning and a foot that feels heavy to walk on! I called my doctor again this morning and can't get me in for bloods until the end of the month so I'm terrified about how my days are gonna to go feeling this way without any let up.

Am I stupid to think about getting a supplement of b12 to see if that makes any difference? I don't know how quick it would take to make a change but I'm desperate to just feel a bit more normal so I can hug my little girl without feeling like I'm about to fall over

Don’t take supplements until after you have had the blood test or it will skew the results.

^ That’s what I was going to say. And if you are properly deficient you’ll need injections because you won’t be absorbing it.

Thats a ridiculous wait for blood tests. Does your surgery have any other branches or anywhere else you can get them done? I was told similar when I felt like I was dying of anaemia and I pretty much cried on the phone to the receptionist who got me an appointment for the next day at a different practise under the umbrella company. This was last year when things were already very shit with GPs and availability.

I’m sorry you’re feeling so awful. I didn’t have all your symptoms but I’ve been on b12 injections about 15 years and they’re life changing if you’re deficient. Hope you get some answers soon.

I did think the same about taking supplements before the test but I guess I wanted someone to tell me it was a good idea so I could feel a bit better!

Think I'll be on the phone to the doctors for a cry at them!
