Geographic tongue

Does anyone gets this?
In my late 20’s (now 49), I was told by an oral surgeon that my sore, patchy tongue was geographic tongue. I’ve had it on/off over the years but not too bad.
However, it been really flaring up recently and I’m not sure why.
It often looks like the image (sometimes looks more inflamed), then calms down for a few days to a week then flares again.
I have bad IBS, suffer awful stress/anxiety and am Perimenopausal so not sure if they are all contributing?
I can’t get in to see the GP till the end of the month.

Try and see a dentist not a GP x

Yes I have exactly the same problem. It started just after I'd had covid so I'm guessing it was triggered by that. I've spoken to both my GP and my dentist about it. There doesn't seem to be a lot of help for the condition, other than a mouthwash my GP prescribed which did help to calm it down. I found also found that avoiding very salty, sugary or highly acidic food and drink has helped to keep it under control.

My daughter gets this. Acidic fruits like pineapple and tomatoes tend to make it worse, where she complains it is itchy. She has always had it.
