Constipation/ Uti

Hi,

I been feel really constipated this week and been awake at night with bad stomach cramps.
I had laparoscopy on 9 and was bad in my second week of recovery so had been off work 3 weeks.
I was prescribed sachets for the constipation and doctor that called back on 111 said to take 4 sachets over 4hrs. It did seem to work. I was fine after this for awhile.
Last week went back to work started feeling the same after my first shift.
I been trying everything to make me go. Bought cabbage and you think it help. Well it did a bit but just passing wind and little bit here and there.
I am getting quite fed up with the pains during the night. Going to the toilet and it's like nothing.
On top of that I am thinking I have a UTI again but not sure if it's just constipation. Last time I went the paramedic guy said he can't just put it down to constipation but he got advice from gynaecologist registra who said give meds for constipation.
I really don't want to take the sachets but think it made me worse after.
I am just wondering if I should get tested for gluten because thinking it could be food I am eating. It's really making feel nauseous and no appetite.
Any advice please

I decided to just try the sachets again and see what happens.
It's actually helped but it made me still feel funny so that's why I thought no more than 4 needed. I still needed my stomachs to settle down after a couple of days.

Any advice please

My DH gets constipated after any sedative or anaesthetic. He has to take duco ease at nighttime for about a week to settle his stomach to get bowels working normally, then he takes one every other night. They do give you stomach ache and they aren’t recommended for long periods just until you are back going normally. You need to drink at least 2 litres of water each day, lots fruit and fibre also help.
