Is anyone else’s hayfever unmanageable this year?

I always get pretty bad hayfever but this year even with tablets (and taking more than I should be) and nose spray it seems worse than ever.
eyes are streaming, throat and ears so itchy and the sneezing and snot is ridiculous.
I’m showering and washing my hands and face often, I shower the dog when she’s been running through the grass, I’m smearing my nose and eyes with Vaseline, drying clothes inside…
Nothing is working and I feel like total shit.

The old pollen forecasts on the telly used to be fine and would tell you the actual count, but now it is just L, M or H. Fat lot of good that is. They don't tell you what those three mean. I dread the days when they occasionally put VH.

Ive been taking fexofendine since feb/mar as tree pollen allergy as well as grass....

Thanks for the name of the sprays.. may investigate those.....

.although tested positive for covid so cant blame the pollen now!..
So if you are feeling rough maybe something else...

Just an update that since I’ve been taking the nose spray in the way i said above it’s been loads better. Typically I can’t find the article again now but I think it was from Twitter.
basically - hold the spray in the opposite had to nostril.
don’t squeeze the other nostril shut
aim the spray at the outside edge of your nostril
don’t sniff-just breath in gently through your nose.
I guess it might be a coincidence and that the spray has just had time to take effect but I thought it might be useful for others who are suffering to try.

For those who suffer with asthma too, have you tried montelukast?

dc started suffering with hayfever last year and this was the only thing that did the trick. We finally managed to get some for them again this week and it’s like magic - eyes not puffy, itching and bloodshot and no longer needing to use their ventolin.

Worse I've been in years. Avoiding going outside even though I want to enjoy the sun! Makes me feel like I have the flu.
