Any gynaecologists here?

I've read it can happen if breastfeeding but I'm not. Baby is 14 weeks. Had my first period last week and tampons were very sore. Then started a burning sensation which is still here now and is awful. GP prescribed thrush treatment but I'm not convinced as no discharge. Can dryness happen if formula feeding? Would the burning sound right? If so what can I do because it's damn miserable!!

I’m not a gynaecologist but you can get thrush without discharge. I’d go back to the gp and ask for a swab to be taken though because it could be an infection maybe?

I'm not a gynaecologists but echo above. Def worth trying thrush treatment. You are also in a low oestrogen state for first 2 months after birth, which is extended if breastfeeding, but affects everyone for first 2 months. Hopefully it should start to improve from now on.

I'm on my second oral thrush tablet and have also used pessary and external cream - all since Saturday as suggested by GP. I'm nowhere. The burning is awful.

Would some vaginal lubricant help with any dryness/burning?

Did the GP check your urine? It could be a uti, you might need antibiotics. Is get back to the GP asap
