CT following endoscopy

Hi, my dad was admitted to A&E on Thursday due to suspected internal bleeding as blood results were showing he was severely Anaemic. He was given two blood transfusions and they sent him for an endoscopy yesterday.
They have now advised that they would like to keep him in until Monday so they can give him a CT scan after spotting something on the endoscopy they would like to investigate further.

The communication has been rather vague from the doctor.
Has anyone been in a similar situation?

Does anyone have any idea of things they might be looking for?

We are obviously worried now it could possibly be some form of cancer but surely they would have indicated if they thought this would be the case?

Would really appreciate if anyone has any idea of what they may be suspecting or information from anyone who's been through something similar.

Im guessing they didn’t tell him what they thought they had spotted during endoscopy?

Unfortunately not, just that there might be something but that it was inconclusive and he would need a CT, they also have given him an endoscopic ultrasound.
He hasn't seen the doctor since the endoscopy as he left shortly after on Friday and won't be back until Monday. Nurses advise we need to wait to speak to the doctor.

If he’s having ct scan today, he will be told later on today the findings. I hope all will be okay for him.

They are trying to find if he is bleeding internally, I would imagine the endoscopy didn't show anything so will do the CT scan & maybe a colonoscopy, that is normal protocol. If they don't find anything then they will most likely give him iron infusions & repeat bloods every few weeks to see if his iron levels are improving.

Its a worrying time but it really could be a your nothing at this point. No they don’t always say they are looking for cancer but it needs to be ruled out. In my exam with loved ones I found it helped me to prepare for the worst and hope for the best. Whatever it is and there are lots of possible reasons, your dad is being investigated thoroughly so he won’t have long to wait. Try to stay occupied, I know the waiting is the worst. I hope he gets a post outcome.

Thanks for all the responses. Hopefully we will find out later today what's wrong.
It's just been a worry with him being kept in and not knowing what's causing the bleeding.
