Does this pattern of puking sound familiar in anybody's DC? And if so, will DS ever grow out of it???

DS is 2 1/2. He has one vomit, then another 36ish hours later, then 24 hours, then 12, then a flurry of pukes over a day/night, and then it follows the reverse pattern until he's well again. In between pukes, he's peaky verging on poorly.

He's had four episodes like this over the last year and we're now verging on getting concerned. Did/does anybody else's DC do this?

Hmm. Not sure Ds was ever that predictable...he is one of those children who is sick any old time though...laughing too much, coughing, running, choking etc etc. Oh and when he is ill!

But it's never really been a pattern like that.

All I can offer is that he has gradually got less sick as he has got older. I think now it is usually a sign that he is unwell rather than anything else.

Your poor DS! And poor you! I thought my DS made life tricky with spun-out puking - at least he's never sick as a one-off.

Oh it's OK Corrie - it doesn't seem to bother him. Doesn't bother me much unless it's on my bed...

I'm phobic about being sick myself but other people are welcome to vom!!!

Hope you find out why your ds does this thing. It could be nothing, try not to panic

Corrie - a friend's ds had something called 'cyclical vomiting syndrome'. Google it - see what you think. He grew out of it by end of primary IIRC.

Thanks for that. I have googled and the cycling thing is certainly familiar but the bouts of vomiting aren't really that severe - just one episode, tummy emptied, job done. I think I will take him to the GP next time it happens though. Thanks both.
