B12? Low sats? Help

Ok I'm going to try and be as clear as possible. I'm not asking for medical advice as I am seeing my GP just what should I do or be pushing for?

2 weeks ago I noticed I was super short of breath just standing. My sats were dropping to low 80s but on sitting I recovered quickly.
I went to see GP next day who did a full check for blood clots and an ECG. All fine. Bloods were taken and I was sent home with the advice of 'don't do too much'
2 days later bloods came back.

I already have dx of b12 deficiency, not treated correctly as I have nerve damage and only have jabs every 8weeks. My iron and folic are fine (I take supplements) but my red blood cells are large (a side effect of not processing B12 correctly). My blood serum B12 is high but GP doesn't understand that ACTIVE B12 is very different and won't accept private readings I've done which show mine is low hence the low RBC count.

Now as I see it low RBC means oxygen isn't getting round my body well and could explain my low sats etc. ??

GP referred me for chest x Ray which I had a week ago. No results yet.

I managed to buy B12 online (safe and via a support group for pernicious anemia) and have been injecting daily.

Whilst my chronic fatigue appears better I'm still struggling with breathlessness and low sats and now I'm struggling to lift my legs onto steps and open bottles as my hands are not working properly. I also have horrid sciatic pain.

I feel like I'm deteriorating fast and not sure what to do.

In my head I think it's b12 related but despite daily injections I'm not improving.

'2 weeks ago I noticed I was super short of breath just standing. My sats were dropping to low 80s but on sitting I recovered quickly.'

Are you very overweight? Do you think just the exertion of standing may affect your breathing, if not are you perhaps holding your breath as you get up?

If ecg, bloods ok I wouldn't worry. If anything acute had shown on your chest xray you'd have been informed by now. As long as HB in normal range it won't affect the oxygenation.

Please don't inject anything that isn't prescribed. Buying stuff online and injecting is very dangerous, none of these things are regulated.

Hope you feel better soon maybe concentrate on some exercise and a good balanced diet (unless you're doing that already of course)

P.s ring 111 if breathlessness continues or gets worse, obviously.

I am obese BUT been this way since I was young and in March I went on holiday and was swimming daily as well as walking 10000 plus steps a day as well as doing day trips to London with no issues. This has crept up on me literally in a few weeks and my weight has not changed in over 7 years. (Doctors actually stated that my weight is stable and has been therefore whilst it would be good to lose weight it cannot be the primary cause of this new symptom.

Also just to be clear my GP is fully aware that I self inject B12. They have checked my home supply and it's exactly the same as the one they use

I started injecting over 4 years ago when it was clear the GP wasn't going to follow NICE guidelines

Anaemia alone doesn’t typically cause low sats. Oxygen carrying capacity may be lower but Hb saturation shouldn’t be. HTH.

Thankyou.
