Headaches following head injury

Any advice? Apart from see gp (appointment is booked)

I had a head injury in feb, fell onto my cheekbone and got a lovely big black eye. Went to a&e after the fall and was told to take paracetamol. Once the swelling and bruising went away I noticed an indentation by my eye. I've been getting headaches and a numb feeling in that side of my face now so 111 advised to see gp and I've got an appointment for 4 weeks time.

Just wondering if I should wait the 4 weeks or take my self off to a minor injuries unit sooner?

Ring your gp in the morning and ask for a same day appointment- better to see your gp who knows you than a walk in clinic

4 weeks, even for a non-urgent appointment with a GP, is outrageous. The NHS is broken.

4 weeks time was the next available appointment

Minor injuries, probably need a facial bones X-ray

I would go to minor injuries.

A relative of mine had post-concussion syndrome so continuing headaches and tiredness but was reassured by scans that everything was otherwise OK. She had a lump on her head for months.

I got beaten up 22 years ago. Punched hard first in my left cheek bone and then dragged down and had my head and ribs kicked constantly. I had constant migraines for well over a year but they couldn't find the cause once my concussion had subsided. CT scan clear so nothing pointed to anything brain wise. In the end I ended up having an X-ray done which showed damage to my sinuses caused by the original punch to the cheek bone. It took a couple of different types of medications to sort it out but eventually the migraines eased off. Well they did until I fell years later and ended up with another lovely head injury and concussion again

Go to minor injuries.

I injured my head 5 years ago and went to minor injuries who said I was fine and said I need to talk to my GP if I have any problems.

Got an emergency appointment a few days later as I developed vertigo. (which after 5 years, I still sometimes get) I didn't mention the headaches as it did say in the leaflet I was given, it's normal and should go. Mine "only" last 2 weeks.

I would
(our scan was not clear - blood building up under skull)

All GPs have to offer same day emergency appointments - maybe try that?
