Hiya

I am ttc my 2nd child and have been doing so since the end of August 07.

Once I started ttc my af seemed to go awol it was absent for over 3 months in total but I wasn't pregnant confirmed by numerous negative pregancy tests.

I had a blood test done at my doctors to find out the reason and it was found I have a underactive thyroid my absent af was put down to this.

My hormones were also checked and my doctor said that my fsh was also high and said that this was also probably caused by the thyroid.

I never thought to ask what my fsh was at the time this is all new to me and I am only just beginning to understand it.

She said all other hormones were okay I think she mentioned progesterone, LH, tostesterone etc.

Had anybody any info for me does a high fsh mean that you are definatley in menopause.

I am now taking thyroxine and my cycle has returned.

Hi

check out these pages (3)
women.webmd.com/follicle-stimulating-hormone

Perhaps if you know your levels you could work out what the doctor meant by "high", you could've been at a naturally high point in your cycle.

Would guess if your cycle has returned then you've not reached menopause!!

Good luck
