Shower Fatigue?

I nearly passed out in the shower this morning.. suddenly felt sick/wobbly, head went all light and i had to get out and sit on the toilet for a few minutes and just breathe til it passed.

Wobbled back to the bedroom and it took about 15/20 mins to recover. What the hell was that about?

Probably low blood pressure, which can happen after a hot bath or shower.

Whenigrowupiwanttobea · 30/04/2022 19:10

Sounds like a vaso-vagal reaction / sudden drop in blood pressure.

Greatoutdoors · 30/04/2022 19:11

That happened to me when I had flu. How are you otherwise?

LoveSpringDaffs · 30/04/2022 19:14

I get that a lot. I can no longer shower first thing, drives me NUTS!!

I have high blood pressure, so I'm not sure if that comes into it or not.

if it's imperative I shower first thing (I try to organise my life so it's not). I make sure it's not a hair wash day and I keep the shower tepid, the window open and be quick, without rushing 🙄🙄🙄

I hope it's just a one off for you because it's a nightmare. I was always 'can't wake up/can't go out until I've had a shower' so hate hate hate being like this!

I was like this in early pregnancy when my blood pressure dropped really low. I had to buy a shower stool as I couldn't stand for long.

MJ123 · 30/04/2022 19:21

Really common, likely to be a blood pressure Drop.

Sadly nothing the GP can or will do usually

i usually shower in the mornings, its certainly not happened before, and it was right at the end of the shower.. and it wasn't hot water.

i'm a bit 'off' in general though at the moment, little low grade niggles that aren't worth bothering people about.. and i DO get ectopic heart beats..etc, so i guess could be related.

i shall add it to the list of "annoying perimenopausal shite"

I would speak to the GP about it and get things checked out. It could be nothing or it could be serious. No one on here can diagnose you. Imagine if you felt like that when you were behind the wheel on a motorway?
