I need to get my brother to see a doctor for MS don’t I?

My brother (56) had a episode where he lost sensation in his feet about 18 years ago (must have been 2003)
I was mainly involved with the psychological support side but did accompany him on a visit to his neurologist. The mri did show a lesion. The symptoms partially improved. The neurologist told him to “put it behind you”. I remember asking the neurologist if the situation was that it might or might not happen again.

A year or two ago my brother expressed concern about his balance. He saw a “balance consultant” who reassured him his balance was actually good (but I saw his gait was odd).

Fast forward to 2022. DB lost his job at beginning of the year. So that’s challenging. But he’s messaging now about problems with walking and balance.

It may be partly depression/anxiety because of unemployment, but I need to tell him to get another MRI don’t I? Because he may be missing out on modern medicines that could help?

Advice welcomed gratefully.

I can’t advise specifically on MS but it sounds perfectly reasonable to have things checked out and assessed. 💐

It could be any number of things causing his symptoms but I'd certainly get him referred to a neurologist, as the wait for a consultation then MRI is extremely long.

Thank you.
I hate to make him feel scared but it seems not improbable that he’s had stuff going on undiagnosed for a while.:(.and that treatments could be available.
