Any community pharmacists here..or familiar with role?

Had letter saying from GP, saying appointment has been made for me with a 'community pharmacist'.
What exactly do they do? I had a blood test recently so assume it's connected to that.
Am very anxious about it!

Well it wouldn’t take much effort to print out a leaflet and stick it in an envelope if such a leaflet existed, but seeing as it doesn’t, perhaps you’re blaming the wrong source?

Just to update.

  1. Call came at 12.20 pm. It took less than 10 minutes. I could have gone to work and taken this call in my lunch break!

  2. Caller was a 'community pharmacist' who wouldn't tell me where he was based but did confirm it is NOT in my immediate local area. Assume it's within our CCG area but who knows...

  3. Reason for call was to tell me my BP is within my target range (um, yes I know it is. I took the readings and know my target as my GP has previously told me). It has risen slightly on last year's reading, but I check it regularly and I know to contact GP if it goes above my target.

I'm not sure if this is some sort of tick the boxes exercise but in this case it does seem like a massive waste of both my time and the pharmacist's time.

How odd. Mine couldn't understand why we'd been referred as they weren't licensed to sell anything for a baby that young. Referred back to GP. After a total of three phone calls over the course of three days (and an increasingly troubled baby) we finally got a prescription. As you say, a massive waste of everyone's time. Think it strange he wouldn't tell you where he was based.

Very odd! I still don't have the results from my blood test - I had assumed that would be the reason for the call.

I hope your baby is now on the road to recovery.
