DD2 has always been prone to getting "bunged up". She often goes a day or two with no poo, and then gets miserable, produces a firm pasty grey-brown poo, then a soft yellow one later. (sorry to be so graphic) She is mixed fed - about 50/50 breast and bottle and have recently started small amounts of solids, which hasn' really made a difference. She is a terrible sleeper and often seems in pain at night and is worse when she hasn't pooed. She has two or three times had noticeable streaks of blood in her poo when especially bunged up. Have seen GP who was dismissive and said it's not constipation unless bms are hard and pellet-like. I know this is conventional wisdom but surely there shouldn't be blood? Any similar experience? FWIW dd1 and I both tend to get constipated unless we eat fruit and veg by the bucket load and there is diverticulitis in the family.
