Sorry kinds of gross but have to wait 3 weeks for GP. I've had It and while but was bearable but last few days it has swollen and I'm on feet all day for work and then hardly rest until kids are in bed. It's a burning / stinging pain and lately can't even walk properly.

Corn/callous. File it away as much as possible or go and see a chiropodist. They can be painful as they push upwards

Looks like a verruca and hard skin to me. Have you tried some freezing verruca stuff on it?

TurkeyRoastvBubbleandSqueek · 05/04/2022 17:42

It looks exactly like a verruca to me! Look up some pictures of them on the net.
When I got one as a child (in the 60's) I had to go to a weekly clinic where a man scraped it with a razor blade - I hated it! These days (as long as you aren't diabetic) you can get stuff from the pharmacy, or even a supermarket to get them off.

I can't even put my foot on it though and it'd swollen. Don't think I'm diabetic but I should rule out. What else can I do to ease pain. I'm I'm employed cleaner an honestly I'm limping at the moment. Thanks

Another vote for verruca. Buy some Bazooka or similar from the chemist.

Corn plasters cushion around it (doughnut shaped) and can usually ease the pain

Show a pharmacist rather than making a gp appointment

Silverclocks · 05/04/2022 18:49

I'm not sure it's vertical, don't they usually have a black bit in the centre?

If it is, GP told me to leave it alone and it would eventually drop off on its own and leave me with immunity. It did and I've never had another one, despite swimming very regularly

NoNamesInMyMouth · 05/04/2022 18:53

That’s definitely a verruca. They hurt a lot sometimes.

Malalaa · 05/04/2022 19:15

It's a verruca. You should go to the pharmacy, no need to see a GP.

univmum · 05/04/2022 19:19

Or a podiatrist.

I just file them down (whatever that is, verucca or corn) & continue my life, tbh. Have them chronic.
I may have just developed baxter’s nerve entrapment in my left foot, though, that's interesting. No worrying, just annoying.

This really is the best advice on here (yes, better than mine 🤭). You can show the pharmacist the photo first, but be prepared for them to ask you to show your actual foot ' so wear socks and shoes 😊

Looks like a verucca. I think you can treat them with banana skin - give it a google!
