hydrosalphinx removal and laparoscopy experience

Hi, i am due in a few weeks to have a laparoscopy to remove a fallopian tube that has a hydrosalphinx and any endo they see. I have never had any surgery before, feeling pretty worried about it. I'm also living abroad, so whilst i've got lots of close friends and boyfriend here I don't have my family around me.

Can anyone tell me of their experiences for this, and the recovery? I've found posts of people having the surgery for endo but wondered if anyoen has also had a tube removed and if the recovery is any different/longer?

The recovery varies person by person. They’ll be able to give you a rough estimate so you take time off work but don’t worry if you find it takes a bit longer. Or even if you’re feeling better sooner than expected! (Just don’t get carried away and start doing the hoovering or picking up heavy things before you’ve healed.)

Keep on top of the pain relief at first, even if you think you don’t need it. I don’t know how it works in the country you’re in but if you need to sort this yourself then make sure you have them in before the day or leave the hospital with them in hand.

Some people feel a bit of pain in their shoulders from the gas used during surgery. Peppermint tea helps with this.

EndoUK have lots of great advice, have you been on their website? They also have a good online support group, and a helpline. You can never have too much support.
