Breast cancer in men

I've name changed for this as it's a bit sensitive.

Does anyone have experience or know of men who have had breast cancer? I know it's possible, but would appreciate hearing experiences.

My dad had a different type of cancer last year, has recovered well, but has now found a lump in his chest. The GP has fast tracked him to the specialist for investigations.

He has a few other medical things going on at the moment (as do I - I'm waiting for scan results) and I'm a bit overwhelmed/blindsided by this.

Thanks

Yes, a friend in his 70s had it. They happened to find it because they were scanning his chest for another reason (infection causing issues with heart and lungs). Fully recovered now.

That's good to know, thanks.

Did he had chemo/radiotherapy?

Yes. My dad had breast cancer 30 years ago. He refused to see a doctor for a long time, despite him bleeding & discharge from his nipple. Eventually he had a mastectomy and radiation therapy (no chemo needed). He was most likely BRCA2 positive as his sister & his mum both had had BC. And I have had BC twice - genetic test confirmed that I am BRCA2 positive. Still standing.
