only one of the wrists hurts, so I think it is due to the mouse use on the computer. Is there any good mouse that would prevent aching wrists?

It could be some for of repetitive strain injury if you are using the computer a lot.

You should really go to the Dr, to get a proper diagnosis

I had carpal tunnel syndrome that affected my right wrist really badly where the nerve is irritated and swollen where it passes through the holes in the wrist bone. I found handwriting really hard and using the mouse. The things that the physio tried that worked to a certain extent

  • wrist supports
  • special wide foam pen grip
  • wireless mouse
  • gel mouse pad
  • touch screen
  • cool packs (or basic range frozen peas)
. putting arm on pillow when not working
  • hand physio

How in the long term using my hand got painful and I ended up having surgery

I first got this in 1992 when computers were introduced where I work.
Tenosynovitis or similar AKA repetitive strain injury.
It got worse and worse and I ended up unable to use my right hand for 2 years.
Eventually recovered but it comes back if I do a lot of repeated movements such as painting, crocheting scrubbing or mouse work.
I do use an ergonomic mouse and I'm very concious of posture at keyboard.
Use cold or hot pads whichever helps, ibuprofen, tubigrip.

Hand physio helped but chirpractor made it much worse.

thanks, is there any good mouse for the computer that anyone can recommend? I am trying out the penguin shape mouse from amazon, does anyone know of any other type of mouse that is better than the standard mouse?
