Interpreting cholesterol result

I had a blood sugar and cholesterol test recently at my GP; blood sugar was 42 which the Doctor wasn't concerned about as it's been that for 3 years, and chloresterol was 1.16.

I have no idea how to interpret the cholesterol but I know I am still the low end of having pre-diabeties.

I am assuming my cholesterol reading is good? My GP only contacts us with results if there are any concerns and I was told by the Receptionist on the phone.

They like total cholesterol to be below 5
& HDL (good cholesterol) to be above 1.2,
I’m assuming the 1.16 may be your HDL?

Thanks, I would assume so. Will have to phone the surgery again, the receptionist didn't know how to interpret the results!
