Hands shaking but fine after meal?

This happened twice at work now. My hands were shaking and I didn't feel well. Heart was racing and shaking hands but had lunch and my daily vitamin berroca and I was fine.

What causes this?

Low blood sugar?

SuperSocks · 16/03/2022 23:07

Hypoglycemia? Worth getting checked out if it happens again.

stickygotstuck · 16/03/2022 23:09

Worth having your thyroid checked too.

PickAChew · 16/03/2022 23:11

I get this if I have sugary stuff and/or not enough protein.

What are you eating before then?

Defiantly41 · 16/03/2022 23:17

Suspect low blood sugar, I'm a T1 diabetic and hands shaking is one of my first symptoms of hypoglycaemia

You should get checked out (could be reactive hypoglycaemia)

gemloving · 16/03/2022 23:18

It could be low blood sugar. @SuperSocks I am actually seeing my GP tomorrow morning & I'll mention that.

@PickAChew I have porridge with honey and nuts at around 8, coffee after. It was quite stressful so didn't eat until 01:30pm.

Sounds like hypoglycaemia to me, worth getting your bloods checked whilst you're at the doctors.

SuperSocks · 17/03/2022 18:51

@gemloving What did the doc say? Hope you're being taken seriously.

eurochick · 17/03/2022 19:17

I've had this since my teens. It's related to blood sugar for me.

gemloving · 18/03/2022 02:09

@SuperSocks he didn't seem too interested given that it's only happened twice.

I had very low iron two weeks ago (7) and now awake in the middle of the night because I'm dizzy and my hands are so numb.

I have no clue what's going on with my body but it's all very exhausting Sad

Give up caffeine for a while.

SquirrelG · 18/03/2022 06:13

It happens to me often - usually after bingeing on sugar, and then cutting back. Eating something, especially protein helps a lot.
