Receding gums

I’ve just been to the hygienist. Along with a deep clean I got a lecture about using interdental brushes rather than floss, and also told my gums are receding at the front probably due to brushing too hard.

Does anyone have any further tips, I didn’t take much in past being told about receding gums as I panicked by teeth are now going to fall out.

I was going to say to see a hygienist regularly and step up your home care but I see you have just been treated unsympathetically by one.
If this was a private hygienist, I would go elsewhere, as it is their job to gain your confidence and explain to you how you can stabilise the position which you likely can, not to send you away feeling all at sea.
If the issue is because of overbrushing, then only do it twice a day not after every meal and get a soft-bristled rotary electric toothbrush with one of those warning lights for when you press too hard.
I personally do a mixture of flossing and interdental brushes with the latter only being for around crowns or where a gap is big - you may not have any like this.
You deserve better care than this.... www.dentalfearcentral.org/faq/gum-disease/

Can it get better. I have this on one tooth, plus it's sensitive and the dentist just said not to brush hard. Didn't say if it will be high and sore forever ?
