Toe Nail Fungus; Do OTC remedies work?

I have self diagnosed fungus in both my big toes, and spent £18 on a bottle of Nailiner 2in1.

Will it work, or after 4 weeks of 2x a day application will I still have manky toes?

Any experience or advice?

I had one which did clear up with an OTC method. I was quite good about applying every day but it did take a long time as even if they workproperly you have to wait for the nail to grow which takes months. I think mine took at least 3 or 4 months to get rid of.
I have another one at the moment and it seemed worse so I've been seeing a professional and she is using clearanail and lamisil. It still looks quite horrible but I don't think its as bad as it was.

Mine didn't clear up until my diabetes was diagnosed and treated. Tried everything except laser or the risky medication. Within weeks of metformin, the nails grew back well again.

Interesting. Ive tried various things which have improved, but not sorted this. Ive got a limes though, so might give that a whirl!

*Lumea, not limes. 🙄🤣

My DH tried everything over the counter, pretty much all the at home remedies suggested, and the tablets. Was allergic to one type of tablet and the other didn't work.

We found someone offering laser treatment (at an exorbitant cost) and that's got rid of it. Although his toe nails do now look a bit weird still and apparently they may never go back to normal now. That's from having fungal nail for too long, not the laser treatment though.
