BCG jab

If my baby has a cough and cold (congestion) is it ok to go ahead with the BCG jab. She has been congested for one week and it is calming down but she is still not on usual feeds because of coughing up milk with phlegm(?) so she is eating little and often. She is due to get the jab in 4 days. I called the clinic and was told if she didn't have a temperature it would be ok, but I was under the impression that you shouldn't get immunised if you are ill. I think it sounds dodgy to go ahead. Any advice

Official advice is always not to get immunised if you have a temperature but that otherwise there's no problem.

Personally I've never got DS jabbed if he seems ill, though -- it always seems a bit mean to do that to him when he's feeling grotty, apart from anything else.

I think the advice is not to get them immunised if they have a temp as thats a sign that their imune system is fighting somthing and the vaccination may not be as effective. otherwise there's no medical reason not to go ahead
