I've got 'mild, non calcific coronary artery disease,' how worried should I be??

I recently had a heart CT scan, and it showed 'mild non-calcific coronary artery disease.' I am a 54 year old female, a bit overweight and inactive so plenty I can do to improve my health, which I will be doing. However, I just wanted to know how serious 'mild' coronary artery disease is. Something I just read suggested that most people my age will have some signs of it...not that I'm saying thats ok then, I guess Im just wondering if it's partly age-related or purely lifestyle (ie all my own fault!) Anyone able to comment? Thanks!

Should have added, the consultant did say it was sufficiently mild not to be causing any symptoms.

Hi cardiac nurse here. Hard to comment without results/family history etc but wd suggest that mild = non flow limiting and that risk reduction is your goal as you have already identified. Regular exercise (aiming for 150 mins/week at a moderate intensity) Mediterranean diet, not too much alcohol, plenty of sleep, stress management. Oh and have fun too!
