Anyone have any experience with this?
Ds had a rash, asked on here for advice, some suggested Pityriasis Rosea but last week GP diagnosed ringworm, putting cream on religiously for the last week but rash has got worse so new diagnosis is Guttate Psoriasis.
Steroid cream prescribed but any other helpful tips would be much appreciated Smile

Acute guttate psoriasis is normally a reaction to a strep throat. Antibiotics I found have always stopped it getting worse and sunlight or if it's bad, UV treatment at a hospital. I didn't have it as a child but as an adult. Now if I suspect a strep throat and I haven't had it for many years!
The rash can persist for weeks. The scalp can be affected and soo you may need to use a special shampoo.

I wanted to say, antibiotics when I think I have a strep throat, as this does tend to reoccur.

He hasn’t had strep throat I don’t think, not complained of or sounded like he had a bad throat.
He did have covid a few weeks ago so could be linked to that.
Not much chance of getting him in the sun, he is of the reclusive variety of teens!

My DS had it from an early age, had all the treatments available - steroids then light treatment (which did work largely but you can only have so many) then had three monthly injections, which also worked but they come with all sorts of complications. Now as an adult it still affects him but only from October until June - this winter he started taking a vitamin D supplement and it’s done wonders really incredible actually, his plan is to only take it over the winter months. Worth a try for any sufferers
