He was dehydrated by Sunday evening, so we had a trip to a&e, they observed him for a while and sent us home (alder hey so I'm confident in their care). Vomiting has slowed down enough for him to absorb fluids, so no further dehydration worries at this point, but of course he is very weak, has lost weight, and is in pain (stomach ache, low/fluctuating fever). He can't keep anything down for long, so pain killers are hit and miss. He tries to eat, but keeps vomiting. Drinking plenty of water.

What else can I do? I'm hoping he turns a corner by tomorrow, but need a plan for if he doesn't. It's terrible to see him so ill for so long.

Half and half apple juice with water will help with dehydration, so says a paediatric nurse friend

Hope he’s feeling a bit better this evening. Nibbling on ready salted crisps would be good.

Sloppy jelly is good as it gives fluids and a sugar boost.

@WhiteCatmas

If he’s struggling with tummy pain make sure it isn’t on his right side. Appendicitis can do weird and wonderful things. Apparently it feels like your insides are being boiled.
I would also keep a mind on appendicitis, I had it a couple of years a go and it was mainly vomiting and stomach pain. The pain started like trapped wind and grew more and more intense, strangely the only brief relief I had from the pain was after a vomiting fit.

My little boy had similar last month. He was 8 months and had been bringing everything back up starting a Sunday night. He seemed okay in himself the next day, happy and still smiling but didn't touch much food (he normally demolishes his food so wasn't like him), he then brought all his formula back up that night again. The Tuesday, he was really badly constipated all day - his stomach was rock solid and bloated right out. He eventually managed a poo the Wed morning but it was very watery. He never ate anything at all Tuesday and would barely touch his milk either although was having sips of water. On the Wednesday he was so drowsy and out of it, he would wake up every hour or so for 5 mins crying inconsolably then would fall back asleep and was difficult to wake up, he just had no life about him whatsoever. I was worried as even though he'd been being sick a lot for a few days before he was still happy and smiley in himself. After speaking to the GP we went to A&E - they gave him a sugary drink to get his blood sugar levels up as they were low and he was extremely dehydrated. His heart rate and blood pressure were high and his temp was 38.6.

They said he most likely had an infection. After a few checks and managing to get a urine sample they said he had a kidney infection. They gave him antibiotics to take for a week. He was vomiting and had diarrhoea on the AB's but they cleared his infection up and he's now back to his normal happy self. Stopped being sick as soon as he stopped the AB's.

I would take him back as he's still being sick and has stomach pain

He's had a better day, only vomited the once, but I think he ate too quickly (bread).

I've already looked at appendicitis symptoms and he doesn't have localised pain just general stomach area that is easing off now.

He's weak as a newborn kitten but I do feel like he's turned a corner at last.

That’s good he’s improving Smile

Good to hear he's not been sick much today. Here's to an even better day tomorrow.
