What do I need to pack that I’ll probably forget about?! Hopefully I’ll only be in about a week but it’s also a short flight away so getting things dropped off is more problematic though not undoable.

A phone charger with an extra long cable, headphones, a dressing gown, slippers/shoes that are easy to put on. Pretty basic things but some that I wish I had when I was in recently!

IsItTooHotInHere · 25/02/2022 15:15

hand cream, wipes for freshening up, puzzle book/notebook, pen, book/Kindle, fluffy socks, cordial

Don’t forget period products (if applicable) and hearing aid batteries (if applicable).

Thank you 😊

Will hospitals do clothes washes? Shower is out of the question - brain surgery. What about a padlock? Are bedside tables lockable? And are visitors allowed yet?

Kindle with more books than you think you will read downloaded (in case the Wi-Fi is non existent like it was when I was in recently).

Magazines, easy to flip through.

Face cream, hand cream and Vaseline lip balm, my skin dried out massively. Possibly a body wash and baby wipes.

Toothpaste and toothbrush (charger if needed).

Headphones.

As well as knickers, bras, socks and comfy, easy to get into clothes.

Good luck.

Hospital not likely to do clothes wash in my experience..but not been in for very long stay....

I would still take nice shower gel for washing...I like ren rose otto
Also second moisturiser...and hand cream..

Things that feel nice..a pashmina type thing.

'Will hospitals do clothes washes? '

No they don't and I doubt would be able to accommodate everything on beautifullymad's list. Space is limited.

Valuables can be locked away in offices for safe keeping but it's a faff on. Lockers don't tend to be lockable ime so I would take a cheapo phone in case it is lost.

You just need the basics, travel size toiletries, couple of nightwear items, flip flops or crocs and most importantly earplugs. Good luck.

SophieJo · 28/02/2022 19:17

An extension lead as plug never near you.

PukkaP · 28/02/2022 19:22

Fully charged power bank
Knickers, socks, slippers, lip balm,
Some lockers are lockable, most aren't. I hope it goes well for you

Pineapplemonkey · 28/02/2022 20:20

Any medication you need while you're there. Turns out hospital pharmacies don't stock many types of medication so if you don't bring it with you, they won't be able to provide it. I learnt this once when I had to make an emergency trip to my mothers house to retrieve hers......
