Lump in neck when swallowing

Hello.
I just noticed a small pea-sized lump in my neck when I swallow. It's quite low down, almost invisible but rises up when I swallow. It feels hard to the touch. Can anyone tell me if this is normal please, before I go bothering my GP. Thanks all.

It's best to get it checked out, at the doctors op.That looks to be in the area of your thyroid.

MountainAshley · 20/02/2022 22:23

I think you should go and get it checked out by your GP.

I had a thyroid nodule that presented like that. The GP should send you for an ultrasound. Mine was done under the 2 week referral guidelines.

Get it checked out. My DSis and I have both had benign lumps removed from this area and hers got bigger really fast.

Thank you all very much for replying. I will speak to my GP. Fingers crossed 🤞

Same as other posters, I also had a nodule and one half of my thyroid removed A couple of years ago, they tend to move pretty quick with the appointments too

Out of interest OP have you recently had a baby? I was 7 months post partum when I first noticed it, and this can be a factor because of hormone changes

No I haven't recently had a baby but I totally agree re hormones.

I hope those of you who had lumps are all well now!
