Vertigo

Looking to get some experiences of vertigo before my health anxiety goes through the roof!

I had vertigo a few years ago triggered by rolling over in bed and in the bath, my doctor prescribed me some tablets and did the Epley manoeuvre. I’ve now been having episodes of what I think is vertigo for around a month and I’ve convinced myself it’s actually a brain tumour. I still sometimes get the awful intense dizzy spells when I move my head and everything spins but I also have a low level dizziness on and off, especially when I tilt my head back. It started suddenly in Jan when I was rushing emptying the dishwasher and had an intense dizzy spin my spell. I was then very poorly after my COVID booster which also caused me to feel off. Since then I feel I have been dizzy on and off for a while. Last night I woke up with a classic vertigo episode and am wondering is it possible for vertigo to make you feel a lower level dizzy like this?

Have convinced myself it’s more sinister and I’m also giving myself constant panic attacks over this! It’s making me lose my appetite through worry which probably contributes to the dizziness as well.

I have positional vertigo which came on with peri menopause. It's much better now I am on HRT.

For me the most likely thing to set off an attack is tilting my head back and not all attacks are full on. Sometimes it is just low level dizziness. Because I now know what movements are most likely to set me off I am very careful if doing them and sometimes I can feel an attack starting and stave it off by moving my head carefully back to where it was. Of course you must consult your doctor again, but in all honesty it's probably nothing sinister. Hope you can get some reassurance and relief soon. Vertigo is a very tiresome condition to have.
