Hi , Recently had a lung x ray which came back with “ no significant abnormalities” which i’m pleased about however not due to see Dr for a few weeks. Was curious to know albeit not significant what could the abnormalities be that showed up? Thanks in advance :)

That usually just means it is normal

(Not a radiologist but a nurse)

Yep it means they didn't see anything.

They write it like for all reports, to cover themselves in case of that one in a million/whatever chance that something comes up later. Basically saying "nothing is visible on this scan" rather than "I guarantee you have absolutely nothing wrong". Understandable because the latter is impossible.

Sorry to hijack your thread op but I have a question and saw your thread title...

Would a radiologist looking at a Thoracic MRI look at the whole rib cage? I.e: the front?

Non-significant abnormalities might be a bit of minor OA ('wear and tear') in the visualized joints, small granuloma (calcified scar) etc
